Timothy Clinton Pruitt
Timothy Clinton Pruitt, 72, of North Wilkesboro was the pastor at Peace Haven Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro. He’s been charged with three counts of first-degree statutory sex offense, three counts of indecent liberties with a child and three counts of engaging in a sex act as a substitute parent.
Pruitt is accused of engaging in a sex offense with a child under the age of 13, taking indecent liberties with a minor under 16 and engaging in a sex act with a child under 18 as a substitute parent.
Arrest warrants indicate the alleged offenses happened in 2020. Pruitt was arrested on June 18 by the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office. He’s being held without bond in the Wilkes County Jail.
Peace Haven Church officials confirmed that Pruitt was a pastor before he resigned in 2012, and he hasn’t served in any role with the church since that time.
