Former Softball Coach Found Guilty Of Taking Indecent Liberties

A former Catawba County middle school assistant softball coach was found guilty today one count of taking indecent liberties with a child. Angela Minter Parker, age 50 was found not guilty of two counts of statutory sex offense. The Catawba County Superior Court Judge sentenced Parker to 16 to 29 months in prison for molesting the then 14-year-old victim on several occasions in 2012.

At the time of the incident, Parker was an assistant softball coach at Jacob Forks Middle School. Parker will also pay $1,585, which is for the victim’s counseling expenses.
