On Monday, June 26, at 6:26 p.m., the Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on McDowell Church Road in reference to a disturbance where shots were fired. When Deputies arrived, they found 39-year-old Keith Edward May of the residence, with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. May was pronounced deceased on scene by Burke County EMS.
The criminal investigations division responded and processed the scene. At this time, the investigation is pending review from the District Attorney’s Office.
