An explosion near a metal shredder caused a fire at a metal recycling plant in Statesville on Wednesday.
The explosion happened just before 11:30 am at L. Gordon Iron and Metal on Salisbury Road.
An employee of the company was injured.
Officials have not released the cause of the explosion.
