A Catawba County man has been sentenced to 17-and-a-half years in federal prison for trafficking methamphetamine in Western North Carolina.
U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson says 32-year-old Jordan Marquis Cantrell of Sherrill’s Ford was sentenced Thursday, June 11th. He will serve five years of supervised release after completing his prison term.
According to court records, Cantrell distributed large quantities of methamphetamine in Burke and McDowell counties from 2023 through 2025. Investigators say he supplied kilogram amounts of the drug to a network of local dealers and used his residence to store and sell narcotics.
Authorities conducted multiple controlled drug purchases during the investigation, and prosecutors said Cantrell was responsible for distributing more than 71 kilograms of methamphetamine.
Cantrell previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy and drug trafficking charges and remains in federal custody awaiting transfer to a federal prison facility.
