California Man Arrested After Iredell County Traffic Stop

On Wednesday, Deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) Team conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 77 South at Tomlin Mill Road for a traffic violation.

After stopping, and approaching the vehicle, the deputies spoke with the driver 34-year old Victor Curtis Morrison Jr. of Los Angeles , California. Deputies detected signs of criminal activity. Canine “Abby” was called to the scene.

“Abby” gave a positive alert to the odor and presence of illegal narcotics. The deputies searched the vehicle and located over 66 pounds of high grade Marijuana hidden in vacuumed sealed bags. The marijuana seized has an estimated street value of $299,680.00 dollars.

Morrison was arrested without incident and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with: Felony Trafficking Marijuana by Transport, Felony Trafficking Marijuana by Possession, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, Felony Maintain a Vehicle for the Sale or Use of a Controlled Substance, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center with a secured bond of $500,000.
