20-year-old Alexis Joel Prieto Vasquez of Herman Sipe Road NW in Conover is charged with felony statutory rape of a child 15-years-old or younger and felony indecent liberties with a child. The suspect was booked into the Catawba County Jail early Monday morning. Arrest documents indicate the alleged incident occurred on July 31st. Vasquez is scheduled to appear in court on Monday in Newton.
