Due to recent precipitation and decreased fire danger, the burn ban has been lifted as of 5:00 p.m. on November 22, according to Steve Troxler, NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner.
The burn ban is lifted for the counties of Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cherokee, Clay, Cleveland, Gaston, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Iredell, Jackson, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mecklenburg, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yancey.
