A Taylorsville man is being treated in a hospital after he tried to elude Taylorsville Police early Wednesday morning.
According to Taylorsville Police Chief Douglas Bowman, a motorcycle was spotted around 1:30 am on Main Avenue. The operator was suspected of multiple traffic violations. An officer activated blue lights and siren but the operator sped away traveling Linneys Mountain Road and Rocky Springs Road. The pursuit ended in Iredell County when the operator, 23-year old Tyler Nikolas Mackenzie of Taylorsville crashed. He attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody.
Mackenzie was transported to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem with multiple injuries. Chief Bowman says it’s his understanding the injuries are not life-threatening.
A series of charges is pending for Mackenzie.

Update: Mackenzie already has previous charges pending in Alexander County for speeding, driving while license revoked, expired registration card/tag, reckless driving to endanger. He also has pending charges in Caldwell County for possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
