Reports from Caldwell County are that four people are dead after an explosion and fire at a home in Lenoir Wednesday.
The explosion was reported at a home on Laurel Place NW between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Authorities are now indicating that all four victims appear to have died due to gunshot wounds and not the explosion of a yet to be determined origin. The victims consisted of a 58-year-old man, an 18-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl and a 29-year-old man.
Investigators confirmed the four killed were a father and three children, one of whom recently graduated. The identities of the victims have not been released.
