An Alexander County woman was airlifted to a regional medical facility after suffering severe burns Thursday evening.
The victim suffered the burns as the result of smoking while using an oxygen tank at a residence on Three Forks Church Road.
The call to Alexander County 911 was around 7:40 pm.
