On Wednesday evening, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office responded to a homeowner’s report of a breaking and entering in progress on Whitson Hill Lane located off Highway 127. Deputies arrested 18-year old Jeremiah Kole Elder of Taylorsville. He’s charged with Breaking & Entering, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Simple Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Simple Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, and Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance. Elder was given a $15,000 secured bond with a first appearance date of March 7, 2022 in Alexander County District Court. Elder remains in the Alexander County Detention Center as of this morning with a secured bond of $15,000. A March 7th court date is scheduled in Alexander County District Court in Taylorsville.
According to a news release from the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, a juvenile female was with Elder at the time of the arrest. She has not been charged.
