Alexander County Man In Jail Cell Again

Jeffery Allen Bortz, age 39 of Taylorsville, is being held on his latest list of felony and misdemeanor charges.

Bortz was arrested by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office on Monday and charged with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle and multiple failure to appear counts.

Bortz has a series of previous charges pending in Alexander County that include felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of schedule VI controlled substance and felony larceny of a motor vehicle. He is also awaiting trial on charges in Iredell and Catawba counties.

Bortz is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $95,000. His next court date in Taylorsville in set for June 27th.
