Alexander County Employees Honored During Luncheon

Some of Alexander County’s most dedicated employees were honored with service awards during the county’s Employee Holiday Luncheon held in December.

Jeffery Sigmon and April Galloway were recognized for their 30 years of service to Alexander County. Sigmon, who is the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director, began his career with the county as a Basic EMT in April 1994. Galloway, who is a Social Worker II – Case Management for the Health Department, began her career as a Social Worker I in August 1994.

Lisa Harrington and Jamie Starnes were honored for their 25 years of service to Alexander County. Harrington, who currently serves as the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Administrator, began her career with the county as the 911 Addressing Coordinator in June 1999. Starnes, who serves as Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, began her career as an Office Assistant in September 1999.

Those recognized for 20 years of service to Alexander County include: Erik Smith, Scott Snyder, Irene Dail, Shannon Roberts, Greg Foster, Kevin Richards, David Moose, Ray Story, and Josh Mitchell. Smith, who is an EMS Paramedic Assistant Supervisor, began his career as an Intermediate EMT in February 2004. Snyder has served as a Maintenance Mechanic/Electrical Specialist since March 2004. Dail has served as a Site Attendant at the landfill since April 2004. Roberts, who is a Lieutenant for the Sheriff’s Office, began as a Deputy Sheriff in May 2004. Foster, who serves as the 911 Telecommunications Manager, began his career as an EMS Attendant in July 2004. Richards, who is an EMS Paramedic Shift Supervisor, began his career as a Paramedic in July 2004. Moose, who serves as the Consolidated Human Services Director and Compliance & Procurement Specialist, began his career as a Deputy Sheriff in July 2004. Story, who is a Heavy Equipment Operator, began his career as a Truck Driver in July 2004. Mitchell, who is the Public Works/Solid Waste Director, began his career as a District Technician in August 2004.
