Alexander County Sheriff Chad Pennell has updated the investigation into a murder that led to a pair of arrests last week in Alexander County.
As previously reported, on April 21, at approximately 11:03 p.m., the Alexander County 911 Communications Center received a call reporting a civil disturbance at 71 Fairmont Court in Stony Point. The caller disconnected shortly after placing the call.
Moments later, a neighbor contacted 911, reporting that they heard yelling followed by several gunshots coming from the residence.
Deputies responded to the scene and located a victim outside the home. Life-saving measures were initiated. Upon arrival, Alexander County EMS pronounced the victim 20-year old Landon Makhi Alexander Barker of Taylorsville as deceased.
Investigators determined that suspects fled the scene in a white Nissan Altima. The vehicle was later stopped by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office on Hickory Highway near Statesville.
