October 31, 2025 By Richard C. Gilbert

Taylorsville: Old military tradition insists that all wars must be won on the ground. At least on this night the victor won the game on the ground.

Alexander Central rolled up 345 yards rushing and picked up a Senior Night victory over South Caldwell Friday evening. The Cougars never trailed but South’s air attack torched the AC secondary for 252 yards behind the arm of QB Corbin McGhinnis. The Spartan Senior went 16-29 for 252 yards and a touchdown.

The Blue and Gold running game was led by Sawyer Chapman-Mays with 140 yards and 3 touchdowns. Sophomore Jaquis Parks added 117 and a score. Alexander Central gained only 48 yards, 47 on a scoring toss from Jaheim Redmond to Jeremiah Whitaker.

On defense Weston Palmer led AC with 11 tackles. Cole Pennell collected 6 stops including 3 sacks and an interception.

Alexander Central ends the regular season at 3-7 and 2-3 in Northwestern Conference play.

South Caldwell goes to 2-8 and 0-5.
