Alexander Central’s Women’s Basketball team opened the season on Friday with a come-from behind win over West Cabarrus 53-51.
The Lady Cougars outscored the Wolverines 14-7 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
West led after the first quarter 19-10 in the game played at Lake Norman High School. The game tipped-off off at noon as part of a Friday High School Hoop Festival.
AC still trailed 34-25 at the half and 44-39 heading into the final period.
Kirstyn Herman led the Lady Cougars with 14 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Sydney Hayes added 14. ACHS won the battle on the boards 39-27.
