The Lady Cougars defeated Northwest Guilford on Monday in the Martin Luther King Classic in Greensboro.
The game featured four ties and seven lead changes. AC had the better field goal percentage at 40 percent compared to Northwest’s 26 percent. Alexander Central out rebounded the home team 33-24.
Sydney Hayes had 13 points for the Lady Cougars, Meredith Wike added 10. Kirstyn Herman was the game’s top rebounder with 11.
Alexander Central is now 14-2. Northwest Guilford drops to 12-5.
ACHS will travel to Hibriten tonight in a Northwestern Conference game. The Lady Panthers lead the conference at 3-0 and 16-1 overall.
