Alexander Central opens their 2022 Varsity Football Season tonight at Hickory.
The Cougars bested the Red Tornadoes in Taylorsville in 2021 when they rallied from down 7-6 at the half to win 21-7.
Alexander Central started 2021 with a record of 4-2 but as the season progressed they were ravaged by COVID Protocol and injuries. When the season ended the Blue and Gold had dropped 4 in a row to post a 4-6 record.
Hickory recovered from that opening loss to finish 7-5 including a first round playoff win.
The game will begin at 7:30 at David Elder Field at Frank Barger Stadium on the Hickory High campus.
