As part of a continuing investigation into a series of breaking and entering reports in Alexander County, another arrest has been made.
46-year old William Ray Davis of Hickory was taken into custody on January 28th by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. He’s charged with accessory after the fact of felony breaking and entering and larceny. Davis is suspected of being involved in a series of incidents that led the the arrest of 41-year old Steven Slate Shaw of Taylorsville. On Wednesday January 12, at approximately 9:30 PM, Alexander County Communications received a call of a suspicious person on Woodring Lane in the Bethlehem Community. Officers responded and found the caller had stopped the suspicious person near some storage units. Officers located a Chevrolet Silverado with a trailer displaying a Georgia license plate. After running a vehicle registration search on the trailer, it was reported as stolen to Hickory Police. A search of the vehicle yielded various stolen tools, as well as lock-picking equipment. Following a brief investigation, officers detained Shaw. Shaw remains in the Alexander County Detention Center and is facing long list of additional charges. A search of Shaw’s home uncovered more than $60,000 worth of stolen items. His bond is set at $220,000.Davis remains in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $10,000 as the investigation continues.
