Woman’s Body Found In Catawba County…Updated

The body of a woman was found in a wooded area on Plateau Road on Wednesday in Catawba County.

A passing motorist spotted the body about 15 feet from the highway near where Plateau Road intersects with Trail Winds Street, according to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. The location is about a quarter mile from Fred T. Foard High School.

Update:

The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Emily Elizabeth King. The cause of King’s death remains under investigation and an autopsy is pending.
