Wittenburg Swim Beach Remains Closed

July 2, 2026 By Richard C. Gilbert

Water test results received this morning show that bacteria levels remain above those considered safe under Duke Energy’s water quality guidelines. As a result, the Wittenburg Swim Beach will remain closed until further notice.

Additional water samples will continue to be collected and tested. The swim beach will reopen as soon as bacteria levels return to a safe range.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our residents and visitors.
