ᴄᴀᴛᴀᴡʙᴀ ᴄᴏᴜɴᴛʏ, ɴᴄ — On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at approximately 1:45 p.m. deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office received a report concerning the discovery of human remains in Southeastern Catawba County near Catawba Valley Blvd. Deputies arrived on scene around 2:00 p.m. and have confirmed this discovery. The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations has initiated an investigation and are being assisted by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
Investigators and agents are working with the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the identity of the decedent and cause of death.
