Due to a catastrophic failure of all redundant systems at a nearby pump station, believed to have been caused by lightning, the Wittenburg Swim Beach at the Wittenburg Access Area in Bethlehem is temporarily closed.
Repairs to the pump station have been completed. As a precaution, staff will continue monitoring bacteria levels in the water over the next several days. The swim beach will reopen once testing confirms the water is safe for public use.
