A man was found dead on Monday in Southwestern Wilkes County.
According to media reports, the man who has not been identified was located in about two-feet of water in Upper Elk Creek.
A companion was with the man but was not within eyesight at the time of death according to the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators are awaiting autopsy results.
