Wilkes County Man Charged With Statutory Rape

A Wilkes County man is being held under a $1 million bond after being charged with statutory rape of a child, age 13,14, or 15 and first-degree kidnapping.

23-year old Carlos Garcia Aquino is also charged with two counts of statutory sex offense and three counts of indecent liberties. The family of a female victim reported the incidents to the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office. Arrest warrants were issued and Aquino was arrested in Winston Salem on May 24th.

Aquino is being held in the Wilkes County Detention Center.
