Alexander Central 64 Watauga 43
Taylorsville: Alexander Central’s Women snapped a three-game losing streak and handed Watauga their first conference loss of the season Tuesday evening.
AC never trailed in the romp. They led 26-16 at the half.
Four Lady Cougars scored in double figures led by Meredith Wike with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Hallie Jarrett had 11, Malayah Adams 10 and Kirstyn Herman finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Alexander Central out-rebounded Watauga 47-27.
ACHS improves to 17-4 and 3-4 in Northwestern Conference play. Watauga is now 17-4 and 6-1.
Varsity Men
Watauga 60 Alexander Central 49
The visiting Pioneers pulled away in the second-half after leading 26-24 at the intermission. The game was tied 8 times but Watauga never trailed.
Watauga’s scoring was paced by Cade Keller with 22.
Chad Lasher’s 15 points led the Cougars who fall to 8-13 and 2-5 in league play. Watauga is 16-5 and 6-1.
