Zionville– On Thursday, November 9, at approximately 3:25 p.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Watauga County on US 421 near Brown Road. A 2001 Toyota Highlander was traveling north on US 421, crossed the center line, traveled off the left side of the road, went down an embankment, became airborne, struck a tree, and overturned.
The driver of the vehicle, Nancy Wilson May, 65, of Zionville, NC, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
