The City of Hickory had a discharge of untreated wastewater on Monday of an estimated 34,000 gallons on Snow Creek Road.
The untreated wastewater was discharged into Snow Creek due to a pipe failure.
The Division of Water Resources was notified of the event and is reviewing the matter. According to city officials, the water remains safe following the overflow. For more information, contact the City of Hickory Public Utilities Department at 828-323-7427.
