Two men charged with a 2019 murder in Statesville have pleaded guilty.

On June 21, 2019 the Statesville Police Department responded to a call at 431 Deaton Street in reference to a person being shot. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, 24-year old Marcus Jauqice Moore, in the yard suffering from a gunshot wound. Marcus Moore was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. During the investigation, it was discovered that Timothy Moore, brother of Marcus Moore, was also shot but did not sustain life threatening injuries.
