Two Ramp Closures Begins This Week At I-40/I-77 Interchange In Iredell County

June 8, 2022 By Richard C. Gilbert

STATESVILLE – The N.C. Department of Transportation plans to close two ramps at the Interstate 77/40 interchange in Iredell County this week for a construction project.

Starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, the ramps from I-77 South to I-40 East and I-40 East to I-77 North will be closed to allow crews to tie in the existing ramps to the new concrete pavement. Work is expected to be complete by Monday, June 13.

All traffic traveling on I-40 East to I-77 North will be detoured to Old Mocksville Road (Exit 154) and I-40 West to access I-77 North. All traffic traveling on I-77 South to I-40 East will be detoured to Broad Street (Exit 50) and I-77 North to turn onto I-40 East.

Motorists are reminded to use additional caution when approaching the work zone and allow extra time for detours.
