The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office has released additional information on a story reported earlier today.
On May 18th, 2023, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office along with the Taylorsville Police Department, State Bureau of Investigations The United States Office of Homeland Security, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol conducted two search warrants. These search warrants were part of a month-long narcotics investigation. Before the search warrants, a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle leaving the residence on Liberty Church Rd. The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office K9 was utilized on the stopped vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert for narcotics. A search of the vehicle resulted in 28 grams of Methamphetamine. The driver of the vehicle, Kenneth Alan Korte, was arrested and transported to the Alexander County Detention Center.
After the traffic stop, the first search warrant was carried out on a residence located on Liberty Church Rd in the Hiddenite community. Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, Marijuana, LSD, Firearms and other items of drug paraphernalia were found in the home. James Dennis Ceasar was in the home along with a juvenile male. Ceasar was arrested and transported to the Alexander County Detention Center.
The second search warrant was for a residence located on Princess Lane in Hiddenite. Various scheduled pills, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were found at the residence. This residence was the home of Kenneth Alan Korte.
Kenneth Alan Korte, age 55 of Hiddenite, was arrested for Trafficking Methamphetamine. On May 19th, 2023 Korte was served with additional charges as follows: Felony Maintain Dwelling for Sale of Controlled Substances, Felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, and Misdemeanor Marijuana Paraphernalia. Korte is currently being held in the Detention Center with a secured bond of $100,000 and a court date of 5/22/23. James Dennis Ceasar, 40 of North Wilkesboro, was arrested for Possession Firearm by Felon, Possession with Intent to Sell Methamphetamine, Felony Maintain Dwelling for Sale of Controlled Substances, Felony Possession of Schedule II, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Misdemeanor Child Abuse, Misdemeanor Simple Possession of Scheduled II, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia. Ceasar is currently being held in the Detention Center with a secured bond of $170,000 and a court date 5/22/23.Photos: Alexander County Sheriff’s Office
