Two Additional Alexander County Citizens In Hospital With COVID Symptoms

Two more Alexander County citizens are now hospitalized with COVID-19 associated symptoms. The number now stands at five as of noon on Wednesday according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

20 additional cases have been reported in the past two days. 4,621 since beginning of pandemic.

88 deaths

Alexander County Director of Health Leeanne Whisnant said in an interview on Wednesday that 94% of the North Carolina cases reported in June were unvaccinated.

The Alexander County Health Department has both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccine, and local pharmacies also have vaccines available.
