On Tuesday evening, Alexander County Sheriff’s Office Deputies along with Probation and Parole Officers went to a residence in Stony Point with intentions to serve an arrest warrant on a parole absconder. While they came up empty with that suspect, they charged three men with felony drug offenses.
40-year old Mark Anthony Hays of Taylorsville was charged with two counts of felony trafficking methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/ place for controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia along with a charge of resisting a public officer. Hays is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $300,000. A Monday, October 2nd date is scheduled in Alexander County District Court. 43-year old Thomas Jackson Branson of Stony Point was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Branson is being held in the Alexander County Detentin Center under a secured bond of $30,000 with a first court appearance schedule for Monday, October 2nd. 42-year old Kevin Ray Norton of Stony Point has been charged with felony possession of methamhetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He’s being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $30,000. Norton is also schedule to appear in Alexander County District Court on Monday, October 2nd.Norton has an assortment of previous traffic-related charges pending in Alexander County that include driving with license revoked.
