*** Breaking News*** Teen Charged With Statutory Rape In Alexander County

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 19-year old Jancovien Daquion Peterson of Lincolnton and charged him with felony statutory rape of a child age 15 or younger. Deputies took Peterson into custody Tuesday afternoon . Peterson is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $250,000. An initial court date of Monday, November 30th is scheduled.

Additional information on this investigation will be released later today according to Alexander County Sheriff Chris Bowman.
