On Saturday, December 31, 2022, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office responded to Fonda Road in Western Iredell County in reference to an Armed Robbery. The victim told deputies that he was robbed at gunpoint at his residence the day prior. The victim was able to identify the suspect as Daniel Scott Miller Jr.
During the course of the investigation, Detectives learned that the victim was attempting to sell a firearm online and made arrangements with the suspect. After coming to an agreement on a purchase price, Miller arrived at the victim’s home. Parked at the end of the driveway and walked down the driveway to meet the victim in the carport area to finalize the purchase of the firearm. Miller took the firearm from the victim, and then he pulled out another firearm, pointing it at the victim. Miller then ran back to his vehicle at the top of the driveway, and while doing so, he fired multiple shots at the victim. No one was injured during the incident. However, the victim’s residence was struck multiple times while there were occupants inside.
Daniel Scott Miller Jr, 18 Years Old, was located a short time later and arrested. He is charged with one count of Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, one count of Felony Discharge of a Weapon in to Occupied Property, one count of Felony Conspiracy and one count of Felony Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
Miller was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under $500,000 secured bond.
