Jose Abraham Jaimes- Yanez
A check of the vehicle registration revealed that the registered owner, identified as Jose Abraham Jaimes- Yanez, had an inactive license. When officers made contact with Yanez, they observed an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. Yanez voluntarily produced a small baggie containing what appeared to be methamphetamine.
A search of the vehicle revealed:
• Three open containers of alcohol
• A methamphetamine pipe with burn marks and residue
Yanez was read his Miranda Rights and admitted to both drinking alcohol and using methamphetamine earlier in the day. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol was requested to the scene and conducted a DWI investigation.
As a result, Yanez was arrested and charged with:
• Possession of Methamphetamine
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Driving While Impaired (DWI)
In addition, SHP issued citations for Open Container and No Operator’s License (NOL).
Yanez was transported to the Alexander County Detention Center, where the Magistrate found probable cause for the charges. Due to a prior release order, he was held without bond and given a court date of September 22nd in Alexander County District Court
The Taylorsville Police Department would like to thank the North Carolina Highway Patrol for their assistance in this case.
