A Taylorsville man who allegedly led law enforcement on a high-speed chase last week is back in custody.

Last Wednesday, Matheson was arrested after being pursued at a high rate of speed by Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies. Officers were conducting a check point at the intersection of County Home Road and Millersville Road when a vehicle driven by Matheson approached but failed to stop. He was charged with felony speeding to elude arrest after a chase that covered several miles.

Matheson’s current bond is set a $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in Alexander County District Court on Monday, March 21st.
