Taylorsville Man Jailed Last Week After High-Speed Chase Is Arrested Again

A Taylorsville man who allegedly led law enforcement on a high-speed chase last week is back in custody.

29-year old Codey James Matheson was arrested on Tuesday by the Office or Probation and Parole and the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with probation violations.

Last Wednesday, Matheson was arrested after being pursued at a high rate of speed by Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies. Officers were conducting a check point at the intersection of County Home Road and Millersville Road when a vehicle driven by Matheson approached but failed to stop. He was charged with felony speeding to elude arrest after a chase that covered several miles.

Matheson’s current bond is set a $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in Alexander County District Court on Monday, March 21st.
