Marty Allen Teague
47-year-old Marty Allen Teague was sentenced to serve seven-and-a-half to ten years in prison following his conviction for possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts of attempted trafficking methamphetamine by transport and possession, and felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle. Teague also admitted to his status as a habitual felon. The Honorable Troy J. Stafford, a Superior Court judge from Union County, imposed the active prison sentence.
According to court records, Teague’s sentence was enhanced based on prior felony convictions, including breaking and entering in November 2005 in Alexander County, robbery with a dangerous weapon in February 2009 in Catawba County, and fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle in February 2020 in Alexander County.
Investigators said the case began on December 4, 2022, when Teague was stopped by Hickory Police Department officers for a stolen license plate. Police said he immediately fled, driving at high speeds, running a stop sign, and making unsafe passing maneuvers. According to authorities, Teague eventually drove through residential yards before his vehicle became stuck. Officers said he then ran from the scene.
Investigators reported finding a bag containing methamphetamine and paperwork with Teague’s name, along with a .38 Special revolver under a seat cushion in the vehicle.
