Aaron Charles St Clair
During the checkpoint, an adult male refused to identify himself during a lawful investigation. Officers later identified the individual as Aaron Charles St. Clair, age 52 of Taylorsville. The subject also stated that he identified as a “sovereign citizen.” Personal beliefs or self-identification do not exempt individuals from complying with North Carolina law or lawful orders from law enforcement.
St. Clair was arrested and charged with:
-Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer
-Misdemeanor No Operator’s License
He was transported to the Alexander County Detention Center for processing and held under a $1,500 secured bond.
The Taylorsville Police Department appreciates the cooperation of the many motorists who complied with the checkpoint and helped make the operation safe and efficient.
