Taylorsville Man Charged With Statutory Rape In Court Today

A Taylorsville man charged with statutory rape and incest makes a court appearance today.

21-year old Darion Omar Campbell was taken into custody January 13th by Alexander County Sheriff Deputies and charged with first-degree statutory rape, statutory sex offense with the child under the age of 15, and felony incest with a child under the age of 13.

Records indicate that Campbell was charged with assault on a female, communicating threats, and damage to personal property in November by authorities in Burke County.

Campbell is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $1.5 million.
