Duo Charged After Report Of Stolen Camper In Alexander County

Two man were arrested Thursday morning by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. The charges are the result of an investigation involving a stolen camper.

49-year-old Jason McKinley Powell of Goat Farm St. Hickory, is charged with felony larceny and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Powell also has pending charges awaiting trial in Iredell County for felony larceny of a motor vehicle. Catawba County pending charges include felony obtaining property by false pretense.

Powell remains in the Alexander County Detention Center without bond.

Bobby Wayne Byers, age 49, Carl Hefner LN., Taylorsville is charged with felony larceny. Byers is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $20,000.
