Taylorsville Man Charged With Assault On Child

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Taylorsvile man and charged him with offenses related to the abuse of a child.

28-year old Robert Russell Connolly is charged with assault on a child under the age of 12 and felony child abuse. Connolly was taken into custody on Sunday, May 4th. He has been released under a secured bond of $20,000 with a court appearance scheduled for July 3rd in Alexander County District Court.

The investigation is ongoing.
