Taylorsville Home Damaged In Monday Fire

February 9, 2021 By Richard C. Gilbert

A Taylorsville home sustained extensive damage in a fire shortly after the noon hour on Monday.

Central Alexander, Hiddenite, Sugar Loaf, and Ellendale units responded to the structure on 5th Avenue North. The fire originated in the attic according to Alexander County Fire Marshall Mark Earle. He says the attic was heavily damaged and the fire likely started around a chimney.

The occupants of the structure were able to escape the smoke that filled the home. No injuries were reported.
