Sttesville Woman Killed In Wednesday Accident

October 6, 2022 By Richard C. Gilbert

A woman was killed in a crash Wednesday afternoon in Iredell County. The deceased is 50-year-old Elisa Marie Teasley of Statesville.

Wednesday at approximately 4:00 p.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to Island Ford Road near Stamey Farm Road. A 2008 Chevrolet Impala was traveling west on Island Ford Road, ran off the highway to the right, overcorrected, crossed the centerline, ran off the road to the left, traveled down an embankment, and collided with a tree.

Teasley who was driving, passed away as a result of her injuries at the scene. She was not restrained by a seatbelt. The initial investigation indicates exceeding the posted speed limit to be a contributing factor in the collision.
