The North Carolina Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle and charged 26-year old Jamal Marquis Parsons with driving while impaired and failure to maintain lane control. Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies charged Parsons with felony trafficking in opiates, felony trafficking heroin or opium, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A secured bond of $41,000 was set for Parsons who remains in the Alexander County Detention Center. A June 28th court appearance is scheduled in Taylorsville.
