Joshua Phillip Ostwalt, age 30 of Stony Point, was arrested Monday by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. Ostwalt is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting a public officer, 2nd failure to appear for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, failure to appear for felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and felony probation violation. Oswalt is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center with a secured bond of $9,000. He is scheduled to make a Tuesday court appearance in Newton.
