Statesville Woman Arrested And Charged With Alexander County Murder…Updated

A woman wanted for murder has been arrested according to Alexander County Sheriff Chad Pennell.

18-year old Karla Breanna Freeland of Statesville was taken into custody earlier today in Iredell County. She was transported to the Alexander County Detention Center where she is being detained without bond.

While being processed at the Detention Center, Freelnd was found to be in possession of narcotics. Freeland was charged with (F) Possession of Controlled Substance on Jail Premises; (M) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Freeland has a first court appearance scheduled for April 1st in Taylorsville.

On Monday, March 25th, at around 1:30 am Alexander County 911 received a call of a shooting at 295 Old Mountain Village Dr in Hiddenite. Deputies arrived and secured the scene to find one victim with a single gunshot wound to his chest. Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, Taylorsville Police Department, North Carolina State Bureau of investigation, Alexander County EMS, and Hiddenite Fire Department all responded to the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The victim is identified as Pang Vueyee, age 33 of Newton. Vueyee had been staying at 295 Old Mountain Village Dr in Hiddenite.

Officers conducted a search warrant at 295 Old Mountain Village Dr in Hiddenite. After the search, Jason Henry Fidler, age 46 of Hiddenite, was charged with murder.

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Taylorsville Police Department, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Statesville Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations for assisting in the arrest of Karla Breanna Freeland.

No motive has been suggested by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.
