Robert Michael DeYoung
He was taken into custody on Wednesday, December 7th at a residence on Monte Vista Road, west of Statesville. When Deputies arrived on the scene they encountered a male victim suffering a stab wound. The victim identified DeYoung as the suspect.
Deputies detained DeYoung at the scene. He admitted stabbing the victim with a pair of scissors.
Iredell County E.M.S. transported the victim to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for emergency treatment.
DeYoung is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond and will next appear in District Court on January 3, 2023.
DeYoung’s criminal history includes felony counts of attempted first degree-burglary and attempted malicious conduct by a prisoner, as well as a long list of misdemeanor charges. He is currently on post-release for felony malicious conduct by a prisoner.
