As previously reported, 35 year old Devin Lee Bates led Taylorsville Police on a chase that ended in Iredell County. He alledegly refused to stop for blue lights and siren leading the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office and the NC Highway Patrol to join in the pursuit. Bates was taken into custody in the early morning hours Tuesday after he ran on foot into a wooded area and entered a residence off Sharon School Road.
The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has filed additional charges that include breaking and entering to terrorize and felony and misdemeanor probation violations.
Bates remains in the Alexander County Detention Center with a bond now set at $65,000 secured. He was schedule to appear in court in Iredell County on Friday. His next court date is Alexader County is scheduled for April 25th.
